Sandstone Press is a publisher of fiction and non-fiction books and ebooks. Based in Highland Scotland, the company is characterised by high editorial and design standards, inter-nationalism, and a strong engagement with the contemporary world using modern methods. Sandstone Press books have won or been shortlisted for many literary prizes including the Man Booker, Commonwealth, Arthur C Clarke, Creative Scotland, Green Carnation, Saltire Society, Petrona, Boardman Tasker, Not the Booker, and Desmond Elliott Awards.

Sandstone Press is represented by Faber Factory Plus in Great Britain and around the world other than: Gill Hess in Ireland and Dufour Editions in North America. Our books are distributed by Macmillan Distribution, ebooks by Faber Factory Powered by Constellation.

Sandstone Press publishes fiction and non-fiction for adults.  We do not publish books for children or young adults, poetry or short story collections; we do not currently publish in the genres of science fiction, fantasy, general historical fiction and horror.  We are interested in literary fiction and crime novels and thrillers, any of which may have a historical setting or be set in the future.
