The 2011 Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting

Eligibility: anyone aged 16 or over living in the UK or Ireland.
First Prize: £16,000
The Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting is the search for great new plays and great writers. It is Britain’s biggest playwriting competition and has so far awarded £80,000 in prize money. In 2011 the Royal Exchange and Bruntwood will award a first prize of £16,000 and three further awards of £8,000. Winning writers are given the opportunity to develop their plays at the Exchange with a view to production. Writers of all levels of experience are encouraged to enter and there is an online tutorial to help.
Scripts are submitted anonymously so they can be judged equally. Don’t worry if you are new to writing, this website has all kinds of ideas and support to help you write.
