The third Decibel Penguin Prize is a competition for new writers, and winning entries will be published in a Penguin anthology in November 2008. Writers are asked to submit true stories that illuminate the complexities, challenges and joys of having a mixed heritage.

Competition entries must be; between 1000 and 5000 words in length, non-fiction personal accounts of the experience of immigration to the UK, and aimed at an adult readership. There is no age limit for authors, who must not have had a full-length book published.
