Red Planet Pictures Ltd has created annual prize for the best and the brightest new screenwriting, which open to international entry.
Closing date: 1 September 2007
The winner will receive: £5000, agency representation and a script commission from Red Planet Pictures.
Six finalists will spend a workshop day with Tony Jordan and receive mentoring from the Red Planet team.
The judging panel will consist of Tony Jordan of Red Planet, Julie Gardner (head of Drama Wales and drama commissioning at the BBC), writer and actor Mark Gatiss (The League of Gentlemen, Dr Who), and the incomparable Stephen Fry.
To enter: Your entry should consist of no more than 10 pages of your screenplay. You should also include a half page about yourself and a half page synopsis of your story. DO NOT SEND MORE THAN 10 PAGES OF SCREENPLAY OR YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED
All entries must be in English but the competition is open to non-UK residents. Entries must be original and the sole property of the applicant. The full screenplay can be of any length and any genre but must be presented in an accepted screenplay format.
Competition entries (and only competition entries) should be sent to the email address below. No other correspondence will be responded to.
