The mood on the first morning of the Fair set the tone for the next three days. There was genuine emotion, real pleasure, as people met each other in person for the first time in two or three years. I have been to a lot of trade fairs in the last 30 years, and I've never seen people so genuinely delighted to be at one.
Not so much a business meeting, more a family reunion, the survivor's breakfast at the end of an Oxbridge ball. Several people said to me it was like they had been asleep, only to wake up and find LBF had been there all along, like the three years since 2019 had just been a bad dream. Certainly, inside the Olympia bubble, it felt like the big bad world was a long way away.
