Mslexia Women’s Poetry and Pamphlet Competitions 2016

Open to all women poets. Entry fee Poetry: £7 for up to 3 poems and Pamphlet: £20 for a collection of 18-20 poems of 20-24 pages

£2,000 plus two optional extras: A mentoring session with the editor of The Poetry Review, and a week’s writing retreat at Cove Park for the Poetry Prize and Publication of the Pamphlet by Seren Books, plus £250 for the Pamphlet Prize

We've recently launched our 2016 Poetry and Pamphlet Competitions for women writers. Poets have until 13 June to send us their single poem/s (top prize £2,000!) or their pamphlet/s (to win publication by Seren BooksClick for Seren Books Publishers References listing).

Plus this year we're once again offering a special £500 prize for unpublished women poets which may be of particular interest.

Mslexia Women's Poetry Competition 2016 is for poems of any length and in any style.

Judge: Liz Lochhead

1st Prize: £2,000 plus two optional extras: A mentoring session with the editor of The Poetry Review, and a week's writing retreat at Cove Park.

PLUS Special prize: £500 for the best poem by a previously unpublished woman poet.

2nd Prize: £400; 3rd Prize: £200

17 Runners up: £25 each

Entry Fee: £7 for up to 3 poems

All winning poems will be published in the September 2016 issue of Mslexia.

Mslexia Women's Pamphlet Competition 2016 is for collections of 18-20 poems of 20-24 pages.

Judge: Amy Wack (Poetry Editor, Seren Books)

1st Prize: Publication of the pamphlet by Seren Books, plus £250, 25 complimentary copies of the winning pamphlet and 10 per cent royalties from subsequent sales.

Entry fee: £20 for a collection of 18-20 poems of 20-24 pages.

The winner will also have one or more poems from the collection published in the December 2015 issue of Mslexia.
