The Emma Press is calling for submissions of poetry manuscripts, with the deadline set for 24 January. There are two categories: pamphlets for adults and collections for children. The judges will be publisher Emma Dai'an Wright and poet Edward van de Vendel.  Read more

The Brotherton Poetry Prize

This new prize has just been launched by the University of Leeds Poetry Centre.

The Brotherton Poetry Prize is open to anyone in the world over the age of 18 who hasn't yet published a full collection of poems (a chapbook or pamphlet does not count as a full collection). Entries to the competition should include no more than 200 lines of poetry in up to five individual poems.  Read more

The Sunday Times/PFD Young Writer of the Year 2018

Writers of published fiction, non-fiction and poetry between the ages of 18 and 35 in the UK and Ireland, published or self-published No entry fee

First Prize £5,000 plus a 10 week residency and a year of mentoring, three runners-up £500

Submissions are being accepted until June 8 in one of the industry's longest-named awards, The Sunday Times / Peters Fraser + Dunlop Young Writer of the Year Award. The prize programme is designed to honour fiction, non-fiction, and poetry writers between the ages of 18 and 35 in the UK and Ireland.  Read more
