Bill Bryson is now supporting this year-long competition run from the North of England. Write a short story of no more than 2,000 words on any theme for competition entry.
Certys Ltd, who are running the competition, say that they are looking for:
'the talented authors who remain to be discovered, the voices which are as yet unheard, the stories as yet untold, the writers ignored by the publishing industry.
The Internet gives writers the opportunity to have their voice heard and there are plenty of examples of authors who have gone on to writing careers after their work was first aired on the worldwide web. One of our previous competition winners is currently negotiating a two-book deal.'
