“Oh god! That man is a bore!” Jodie tipped the pile of files she was carrying onto her desk with her left arm and dropped her handbag to the floor with her right, kicking it into place underneath with her foot.
“That was a long meeting,” commented Sarah mildly, glancing up from her word processor keyboard disinterestedly. Jodie flung herself down in her chair and ran her fingers through her short hair with an extravagant gesture.
“Oh, Toddy got going on his pet subject again, the re-emergence of the ‘angry young man’ genre, and Brian let him rattle on as if he was actually saying something useful.”
“And he wasn’t?” Sarah prodded with a sly smile.
