Brighton Children's Book Festival, Brighton, UK

Although quite small and not very well publicised, this one-day festival appears to be specifically for children's writers and has some good authors and sessions, including Creating Picture Books, a panel on getting published and sessions on screenplays and children's poetry.  Read more

NAWG Annual Festival 2007

National Association of Writers' Groups Open Annual Festival of Writing

31 August to 2 September at St Aidan's College, Durham, UK.

Open to all.

This includes 21 workshops with seven top tutors: Steve Bowkett, Marvin Close, Doris Corti, James Nash, Iain Pattison, Jean Saunders and Simon Whaley.

Small Wonder Festival 2007

Small Wonder Short Story Festival

Small Wonder, the short story festival in the UK, is taking place again this year in Charleston, East Sussex, between 19 and 23 September.

The four-day festival will involve readings, discussions and dramatic performance, as well as a two-day creative writing workshop, an Open University short story surgery and “the UK’s premier Short Story Slam”.  Read more
