This is the longest established book award based in the UK for independent and self-published books. The key to our success is having a keen eye for quality from distinguished and reputable judges. We pride ourselves on judging thoroughly which can certainly be seen in the quality of the books that have won over the years. This is an award to be proud of winning!

Our readers observe a strict criteria when reading each book. In general terms, the most important aspects for you to keep in mind are: whether a book is well written (including structure and style), and whether a book is well presented (cover, pictures (if relevant) and layout).

2016 Rubery Book Award is now OPEN for self published and independently published books Overall Prize £1000 (approx 1590 US$, 1277€ ) The winning book will be read by a top London Literary Agent.

Plus a minimum of the 3 category winners each winning £100 (approx 159$)

We have secured three high profile judges for our 2016 awards: MAN Booker Shortlisted author, Clare Morrrall, Poet and Stand winner Jeff Phelps, and author, dramatist and lecturer, William Gallagher.
