We're thrilled to announce that our fantastic Women's Short Story Competition 2015 is open for entries. Suitable for writers of all levels of experience, winning the competition gives you excellent exposure to the literary world and gets your work published in Mslexia‘s June issue (not to mention the tasty £2,000 prize). What's not to like? Entries must be no longer than 2,200 words, but the rest - subject, style, and all that jazz - is up to you. Happy writing!

PS if you're struggling to put pen to paper, we've specially-commissioned three writing workshops by Linda Anderson, designed to get you scribbling. Two of these are already available.

* The Tŷ Newydd retreat is accommodation only, dates to be agreed between Tŷ Newydd and the competition winner.

** The day with a Virago editor must be taken at a time that is suitable to both Virago and the competition winner.
The winner is responsible for any other expenses involved with attending the Tŷ Newydd retreat and the day with a Virago editor, i.e travel, food, etc. The prizes are optional additions to the £2,000 first prize. The prizes must be taken by 31 May 2016.
