Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award

There’s still just time to enter the Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award, Britain’s most prestigious prize for young writers between the ages of 11-17, but the closing date is 31 July!

Poets can enter as many poems as they like, as long as they like, on any subject. Free entry. Deadline 31 July. Winners will be invited to the prize-giving in London on National Poetry Day 2005 (6 October), to attend a week-long residential course at the Arvon Centre in Lumb Bank, and will have their poems printed in a specially published free anthology. A free copy of the 2004 winners' anthology And The Air Sang, is available.

Many excellent poets have first come to everyone's attention through this competition.
