Judges
Glyn Maxwell (b. Welwyn Garden City) was named as a Poetry Book SocietySpecialist book club founded by T S Eliot in 1953, which aims to offer the best new poetry published in the UK and Ireland. Members buy at 25% discount. The PBS has a handsome new website at www.poetrybooks.co.uk 'New Generation' poet in 1994 & has written novels, libretti, drama, radio drama, & prose including On Poetry (Oberon, 2012), as well as editing a collected edition of Derek Walcott's poetry. His nine collections of poetry include a 'selected poems', One Thousand Nights and Counting (2011) & his latest, Pluto (Picador,2013).
Jane Yeh (b. New Jersey, ed. Harvard University) holds master's degrees from Iowa Writers' Workshop & Manchester Metropolitan University. Her first collection Marabou (Carcanet, 2005), was shortlisted for Whitbread, Forward, & Aldeburgh prizes; her latest is The Ninjas, (Carcanet, 2012). She is Senior Researcher in Creative Writing at Kingston University & was named a 'Next Generation' poet by the Poetry Book Society in 2014.

What's new in the Troubadour International Poetry Prize in our tenth year:
Well, we listened when you said that clashing with the National Poetry CompetitionAnnual poetry prize run by the UK-based Poetry Society established in 1978; accepts entries from all over the world; over 10,000 poems submitted each year created indecision over which poems to send where. Of course, whatever we do we're never too far from others' deadlines, but we feel that moving our latest submission date to mid/late-June avoids most direct conflicts. And, as always, we tie-up your poems for the least possible time, with results early-August.
And what hasn't changed:
- You'll have heard social-network grumbles about expensive competition fees (£6 to £10 per poem, for example) but we've stuck with £5 which is where we started out 10 years ago, even though our first prize has gone from £1,000 to £5,000!
- Our two expert poet-judges will read all your poems (no sifters, no chuckers-out)
- And all twenty-three prizewinning poets will be invited to read with Glyn & Jane at a major prize-night celebration at the Troubadour in Autumn 2016.
