Manchester Metropolitan University has announced the opening of its third annual Novella Awards, with the deadline for submissions being 29 April. Prizes include £1000 and publication by Sandstone Press. See www.thenovellaaward.com for information on how to enter.

We are OPEN for submissions till 5pm April 29th we will be receiving your submissions - check out the Submission Guidelines with info on how to enter.

This year we are absolutely delighted to have the amazing Lucy English as this years judge. Lucy is a novelist, performance poet and creative educator. Read more about her on her website http://www.lucyenglish.com/

  • Work must be fiction written in English between 20,000 and 40, 000 words. There are no genre restrictions. Titles and chapter headings are not included in this word count.
  • Entries must be entrant's original writing, and should not be published or be in consideration for publication elsewhere. This includes online self-publishing (blogs and social networking sites etc.)
  • Work must be typed in a Word Document in Courier, Courier New, Times New Roman, Arial or Lucida Grande, font size 12 and double-spaced.
  • If you are successful, you will be required to enter into a publishing contract directly with Sandstone Press Limited. You should therefore not submit an entry which may be in conflict with any other contract or arrangement with an agent, publisher or third party.
