Cardiff International Poetry Competition

Only a few more days!

Closing date 29 January 2010

Open to all poets writing in English

Top prize £5,000

Judging the competition are poets Jackie Kay, Zoë Skoulding and filter judge Tiffany Atkinson.

Eligibility: poems of are 50 lines or less, unpublished, in English and not a translation of another author’s work.

I try to remember that a competition-winning poem has to stand on its own two (metrical) feet; has to amaze and delight the jaded judge on first reading and then impress the jaded judge on a second and third and fourth reading in the cold light of day.’

It's probably too later to receive an entry form through the post, so
