David Nicholls

English novelist and screenwriter; born 30 November 1966; graduated Bristol University 1988; study at American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City; first book 'Starter for Ten', published 2004 later made into film, follow up 'The Understudy' published 2006; 'One Day', his biggest success, published 2009, UK's bestselling book of 2011 made into a film; former actor, written screenplays 'Cold Feet', BBC adaptation of Thomas Hardy's 'Tess of the D'Urbervilles', film version of 'Great Expectations'.
