Poetry London Competition 2007
The Poetry London Competition is offering a first prize of £1,000 for the best original poem, with other cash prizes on offer for runners-up. The first, second and third prize winners will also be published in the August 2007 issue of Poetry London and on the magazine’s website. Closing date 1 June 2007 The maximum length for poems is 80 lines, and the submission fee is £4 per poem (or £3 for magazine subscribers). Entries will be judged by Forward Prize-winning poet Jo Shapcott. Poetry London is an international poetry magazine published three times a year, which features new names alongside acclaimed and established poets. The competition was won last year by Kathryn Simmonds for her poem 'Sunday at the Skin Launderette'.
