The website for writers powers ahead
WritersServices goes from strength to strength. Every hour of every day
there are more than 100 people visiting one of the 1800 pages of information for
writers. Every week over 80,000 visitors come to the site, with over
3 million in 2006 and 5 million expected this year. Our daily average is
14,000 visitors.
Although the site is based in London, visitors come from all over the world,
with only about 7% of them from the UK, 60% from the US and Canada, and the
remaining 33% from an enormous range of other countries. Page views and time
spent on the site are better than the web average. This is because there's so much useful
information for writers to explore on the site, reinforcing the view that it is
content that attracts visitors.
WritersServices’ success is based upon the quality of its content, which
is updated every week, with a monthly magazine. The site delivers a range of professional editorial
services to new writers and runs a self-publishing service for those wanting to
bring out their own book.
After six years of operation, the site has moved to a more powerful server to
allow it to add a range of interactive services, which will launch very shortly.
These will allow writers to run their own website, blog and newsletter. The site
will also shortly enable writers to sell their books, ebooks and CDs online, and
to podcast audiobooks and audio samples of their work.
