Poetry Writers' Yearbook

Edited by Gordon Kerr

Newly published in October 2006, the Poetry Writers' Yearbook extends the highly successful formula of the long-established Writers' and Artists' Yearbook, offering the same essential reference material for poets.

Getting published is hard for all authors.  It's difficult to publish poetry successfully, which makes it even harder for poets to get published.  It's a long, hard road to publication and this book is a useful guide to how to go about it.

The listings include:

Publishers UK and Ireland
Magazines
E-Magazines
Poetry Venues
Poetry Agents
Competitions and Awards
Poetry Festivals
Creative Writing Courses
Poetry Organisations
Poetry Writers' Groups
Poetry Websites

The book also contains some very useful articles about how to get your poetry published:

  1. Foreword by Andrew Motion
  2. A Publisher Writes by Neil Astley, publisher of Bloodaxe Books
  3. The Long and Winding Road to Publication by Alex Macmillan of Templar Poetry
  4. Making a Living as a Poet by Michael Simmons Roberts
  5. Pamphlet Power, Poet Power by Hazel Cameron
  6. An Education in Everything by Colette Bryce
  7. Magazines, A Brief Overview by James Byrne
  8. Performance Poetry by Mario Petrucci
  9. Self-Publishing by Gordon Kerr
