biography
Susan Anne Rule is British and in her late forties. She is a joint
director with her husband of a computer systems consultancy company, and
mother of two grown-up children. She has spent her working life organising
other people and her fantasy life re-writing history.
She is also a singer and musician, song-writer and performer with
semi-pro folk group Pig’s Ear.

The dominant influence on Sue’s life to date has been the care and
raising of her two daughters. Both are currently at University, one
studying ecology and one creative writing, which may or may not say
something about their mother’s influences.
Her professional qualifications begin and end with “A” levels in
English and History, two subjects for which she still retains a deep
fascination.
A love of words started Sue writing and learning the craft, but she is
now writing because she believes she has a story to tell. A story that
touches other people, entertains and delights, brings a touch of magic
into their lives.

The journey to publication
The overwhelming majority genuinely enjoyed it and were
extremely complimentary in their reviews and comments.
In the meantime, I was doing the rounds of literary
agents. There are very few UK agents who will even look at Fantasy, and
those I tried were not interested. I got nowhere trying to go direct to
publishers.
