biography
Rob Gunns is thirty-three and grew up in Lowestoft, Suffolk. After
studying Philosophy at Leeds University he moved to Los Angeles and
interned at New Line Cinema while working in a frozen yoghurt restaurant
and a coffee shop which supplied caffeine to the West Hollywood AA
meeting.
Back in England he worked on the Big Breakfast, The Word and MTV
Europe.
Rob teaches English to support his writing habit. He moved to
Bangkok for a year where he taught, worked as a copywriter and had a brief
career as a male model. He backpacked from Bangkok to Beijing through
Cambodia, Vietnam and China. Previous students include Igor Ivanov, the
Russian Foreign Minister.

 | Rob was chased by a rabid dog through the mountains of Tibet. |
 | Rob once opened a toilet door into Brad Pitt’s face. |
 | Rob enjoys life drawing, the gym, studying Spanish and scuba diving.

Rob has written three optioned screenplays;

Laid Up,

The Goddess and

the Hitman (sold to Midsummer Pictures) and
flatandhard (to Rented Films).
He has also written a stage play Donkeys which
nobody really liked.
Rob made Laid Up into an ultra low-budget feature
film. The remake rights were bought by Unknown Pictures and placed with
Sony in the US. At one point Eddie Izzard was attached to direct.
Rob wrote Clipped in 2004/5 on Bondi Beach. |
